IT Support Engineer (1st/2nd Line – progressing to infrastructure) – Alfreton
Are you an IT Support Engineer looking to develop your career towards IT Infrastructure? We’re working with a market-leading business seeking a proactive and motivated IT professional to join their IT infrastructure team.
This role starts in 1st/2nd line support, but with a clear progression path into infrastructure—perfect for someone eager to grow their technical skills in a multi-site environment.
The Role:
You'll be a key part of the IT team, supporting and maintaining business-critical IT systems, covering:
- User support & troubleshooting (Windows 7/10/11, Microsoft 365, SharePoint)
- IT service management (Jira Service Management or other ITSM tools)
- Microsoft cloud services (Azure, Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint)
- Server administration (Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, AD, DHCP, DNS, File & Print)
- VOIP support (Mitel, Horizon, 3CX, 8x8, etc.)
- Networking (firewalls, routers, switches, cabling)
- Process documentation & IT asset management
- Installation & configuration of IT hardware/software
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure), and basic networking
- Knowledge of backup solutions, VOIP systems & hardware imaging
- Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to new technologies
- Excellent communication & people skills, supporting users at all levels
- Full driving license & access to a car (required)

Location: Onsite in Alfreton
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM
Salary: Circa £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Recruitment Process:
You will have an initial call with Vitreus Talent to discuss the role and your motivations for a move, from there your CV will be shortlisted by the client and they will conduct a two stage interview process. One remote teams interview and the second stage will be an onsite interview and assessment. Following the successful completion of these stages the business will aim to make the successful candidate an offer.
